What a great week at Britton Congregational – BCCC for short? Last Saturday I went to a conference called “Small Church BIG Deal.” It was tremendous. It was organized and well run. We were seated at round tables so pastors could get to know each other, which we did. The presenters were fantastic. They were guys who pastor small churches, and do it well.
I was really encouraged.
Then most of this week was pushed along by our annual Turkey Supper on Wednesday. I am amazed to see the time and effort our church family puts in to make this a success! I should say – a delicious success! In the short time we were open (before we ran out of food), we served a ton of people through our dining room and drive through. The many folks who prepared, cleaned, cooked, served and cleaned had a ministry mindset as they did it. The time is such a blessing!
While the Supper is a fundraiser for our church, it also serves as a place where neighbors, friends and family meet – even in the drive through!
Be sure to join us Sunday at 10am! I’ll be continuing our look at Gideon from the Old Testament. He has certainly given us as individuals and as a church some ideas on living a significant life.
Also, we will be looking at and considering the submissions for a new church logo. We’ll get to access the creative part of our brains!
Plus, we’ll have the opportunity to either tease, or be teased by Cal, depending on how MSU fairs…
I can’t wait to see you on Sunday!
